150 Billion Rials Allocated for Quranic Activities

Appropriating 150 billion rials for Quranic activities in the year 1387 signifies the government's resolve to promote Quranic activities, a Culture Ministry official said. Speaking at a meeting with cultural officials of West Azerbaijan Province, Mohammad Ali Khajepiri, an advisor to the Culture Minister and director general of the ministry's center for coordination, development and promotion of Quranic activities, noted that the country's Quranic budget has risen by 25 times in the past three years. Dr Khajepiri referred to the culture ministry's Quranic plans and said that the ministry has drawn out numerous Quranic programs for the current Iranian year, including the comprehensive plan for instruction of Quran memorization and Quranic concepts. He stressed that the culture ministry is pursuing a Quranic-and-religious-oriented approach in its national programs. He also gave a report of the accomplishments of the center for coordination, development and promotion of Quranic activities. During his trip to Urumia, capital of West Azerbaijan Province, Dr Khajepiri also paid a visit to the Quranic sciences exhibition in the city.
